Bollywood is always considered as the face of Indian film industry. To a layman in abroad, Indian films are Hindi films and in many countries, the common man does not know that many regional film industries are existing in India.
Similarly, in India, Bollywood always enjoys an upper hand over other industries. As the areas of releasing are vast, Bollywood films used to enjoy good collections. Recently most of the collection records are in the names of three Khans. For example, the first three places for highest, first weekend collection are held by Salman Khan’s “Sultan” (105.5 Cr), Aamir Khan’s “Dangal” (105 Cr.) and Shah Rukh Khan’s “Happy New Year” (104 Cr.).
As the Magnum movie Baahubali 2 crosses the first weekend, these records have become a thing of past. In the first weekend, the Hindi version of Baahubali 2 collected 125 Cr. keeping a clear margin of 25 Cr. over Khans.
Baahubali 2 is performing stunningly in all parts of India and on the run, many more records of Bollywood, as well as the entire Indian film Industry, will fall down. Now, Khans will have to sweat more to create records or they can be settled down competing with Non-Baahubali records.
